We worked together in the same medical facility for over a year and had never come across each other. One day, I saw him while I was clocking in to work and thought to myself, that man is dressed really nice. It was unusual since most people in the medical field wear scrubs or some other casual attire and yet, there he was wearing a tie and a sport coat. As I finished clocking in, he glanced up from his computer and although we exchanged no words, we knew the other existed.

I only worked once a week at our mutual work place and every week when clocking in, he was always there sitting at his computer. It started becoming a ritual and I believe the only time in my life where I actually looked forward to going in to work. In the beginning, we never spoke to each other, but then we started acknowledging each other with a smile and finally, we spoke and introduced ourselves. This took about a month.

Eventually, I found out his last name was Oliphant which sounds like elephant and if anyone knows me, knows that I am obsessed with elephants. I have them all around me, in jewelry, art pieces and knick knacks around my house. These creatures are highly sensitive, intelligent and show compassion for each other. I knew in that moment that David was special.

We started dating during Covid in 2020 and now after 4 years we are officially engaged.
